Springtime 2005

Photos from the first really warm and sunny day. Temperature made it nearly up to 20°C and people were glad that the season for being outside began. (photos from April, 3rd).

In the park 5 mins walk away from my house next to Rhine river:

A bit further up the Rhine river we have near an old fort a little beach. People were making use of this on the warm Sunday.

Also cherrry trees are in bloom. Our region around Mainz has lots of cherries. The become good end of June. Most of the trees are sour cherries but some also with the swee dark ones.

On the other Rhine side Mainz 'downtown' begins. For the first time this year I saw that they switched on the fountain next to the parliament, which is located in the old castle of Mainz.

Everywhere people laying in the sun and enjoying the weather. Not only the children in the Rhine liked to stand in the water:
